Client programs and milestones were achieved.
Collaborative working approach with SINSW and Heritage NSW to achieve project outcomes.
Successful completion of the Preliminary Indigenous Heritage Assessment and Impact Report (PIHAIR).
The Project
Schools Infrastructure NSW (SINSW) required a Preliminary Indigenous Heritage Assessment and Impact Report (PIHAIR) completed for the proposed development application of Gledswood Hills High School.
Our Role
Ineco was engaged to provide Aboriginal heritage advice regarding the project and worked collaboratively with SINSW and Heritage NSW to complete the assessment and due diligence. The assessment included:
- Conducting background research to recognise any identifiable trends in site distribution and location.
- Undertaking archaeological survey with a focus on exposed areas and landforms that have high potential for archaeological objects and modified trees.
- Recording and assessing sites identified during the survey in compliance with the guidelines endorsed by Heritage NSW.
- Determining levels of archaeological potential in the project site.
- Make recommendations to mitigate and manage any cultural heritage values identified within the project site.
Outcomes
Ineco formed strong relationships with the SINSW and Heritage NSW to provide successful preparation of the Preliminary Indigenous Heritage Assessment and Impact Report (PIHAIR).
SINSW commended Ineco for the strong team relations, understanding the constraints of the project and willingness to help the project team resolve any issues and queries that arose. This allowed SINSW to make informed decisions based on the assessment results and recommendations.
